Calling all amateur singers in East London and beyond!
Come and join our brand new
Water City Festival Community Chorus, spend Sunday 3 April (with optional ‘taster’ vocal workshop on |
March 20) having fun rehearsing some great music in the unique setting of
Trinity Buoy Wharf on the banks of the Thames.
Then, join forces with the Water City Festival Orchestra conducted by Rupert Bond & led by Michael Bochmann for an informal concert for family & friends to end the day.
Repertoire – Bizet to Bollywood!
The repertoire includes some of the most famous and fun-to-sing choruses from Bizet’s opera,
Carmen (Habanera, Les Toreadors and Danse bohème) with soloists from the Royal Opera House Chorus,
as well as a fantastic Bollywood song, Eena meena deeka.
Recruitment
We are recruiting amateur singers (sopranos, altos, tenors and basses) to join our new community chorus. Experience of singing opera is not required! Children 8 years + are very welcome to join in too (but please see Family Participation note below). Our vocal team from the Royal Opera House and members of their Thurrock Community Chorus / Thames Gateway project will be on hand to help guide you through the music.
